The Early Years Toolbox (EYT) Go/No-Go is a digital assessment designed for use on iPads to evaluate young children’s inhibitory control, specifically their ability to regulate behavioral impulses. In this task, children observe animated fish and sharks moving across the screen and are instructed to tap the screen when they see a fish ("catch the fish") and to refrain from tapping when a shark appears ("avoid the sharks"). The activity typically lasts approximately five minutes.

Results are displayed on the final assessment screen, with options available for researchers to have item-level data sent via email or directly uploaded to a specified database for more detailed analysis. The assessment interface supports multiple languages, including English, Arabic, Afrikaans, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Mandinka, Mongolian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Shangaan, Sotho, Spanish, Swedish, Xhosa, Zulu, among others in development.
